"Hospital Feedback"

About: North Manchester General Hospital

My father in law was hospitalised here in Feb for 3 weeks with growths in his bladder and it took them that long to figure out what was wrong due to lost notes differing consultants and downright mis-diagnosis . He has now returned for a scrape of the bladder to remove growths and I feel he is being treated worse than he was the last time, the staff seemed unaware he was on steroids that had to be kept in the fridge and for 2 days they did not give him any' eventually they found his pills and steroids and realised he should have them. Note to Staff please read patients notes and listen to relatives. They then gave him medicines which seem not to be agreeing with him and we still do not know whether the steroids were administered or not. When asked if he had eaten anything the reply was he has been sleeping all day? If the hospital are aware of previous problems then they should be able to watch out for anything that may go wrong as all his notes should be there and read properly. Why cannot this hospital actually speak to relatives and listen to them and act on what is being said' why cannot they also explain what is happening or what they think is going on. Ward F3 is a joke and the staff are in severe need of training in note taking and reading and relative interaction. There is no point in replying that we can speak to PALS. Please look at the care your hospital is supplying and listen to the people who are sick of this hospital as for every 1 who appears happy there seems to be a lot more who feel let down by it

We are sorry to read your comment regarding your father-in-laws stay on ward F3 at North Manchester General Hospital. As you do not wish to contact PALS to discuss your concerns, we will forward your comment to the ward manager to address.
