"Ward 12 Orthopaedic Unit Room P"

About: Trafford General Hospital

I am a very nervous patient. As such, I tend to be a bit snappy which is my way of coping with being very nervous. I was scheduled for day case surgery under the care of Ward 12 Orthopaedic Unit at Trafford General (Room P) on 30th September 2014. The staff on this ward were exemplary. Professional, friendly, efficient and very very reassuring and supportive. I was informed every step of the way as to what was happening and when it would happen. I was included in every decision made and the anaesthetist in particular was brilliant, explaining all options and then leaving me alone for a little while to think it all through before coming back to talk again. If all hospital wards were run like this one and all nursing staff followed Ward 12's example of how to treat patients, the NHS would not have any complaints to deal with at all. They make a brilliant cup of tea as well!

Thank you for your comments posted on the NHS Choices website regarding your care in September 2014 on Ward 12, Manchester Elective Orthopaedic Centre. It was good to hear that you thought staff were reassuring and supportive as we appreciate how worrying it can be to be a patient in an unknown environment. Thank you for your very kind comments regarding your anaesthetist and how you felt included in all the decisions made about your care. We hope you are well and I can assure you that we have passed on your thoughts to the anaesthetist and all the staff involved.
