I have had Crohn's for the past 12 yrs and moved to the IBD clinic in Leeds in 2009 after problems with my old gastro. I haven't looked back since! The team are fantastic, brilliantly supportive and will always see me at short notice if I am flaring. My doctor is a star as are other medics on the team that I've seen. The IBD nurses are worth their weight in gold - their telephone helpline has been a godsend when I've been having problems in the past - and they are always manage to raise a smile when I'm feeling down. The team have seen me through everything from several major new treatments, pregnancy and the birth of my first child to bowel surgery just 10 months after birth. They listen to me and respect my views, provide extra support when needed and provide fantastic 'all round' care. It is through this clinic that I have been referred to a combined rheumatology/gastro clinic for my joint problems, plus they have referred me on to neurology and for psychological support when needed. There is also access to a dietitian, a dedicated surgical clinic and I have just been referred to an iron clinic for an iron infusion. What more could I ask for?! Thank you to all of the team for your hard work :)
"Highly recommend the IBD Clinic - a fabulous team"
