"Extremely disappointed"

About: Conquest Hospital

I had a colonoscopy procedure done on 12/06/2014, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I thought like they couldn't do enough for you. I received a follow up appointment a week after for 11/09/2014, I wasn't to fussed that it was a while after my procedure as ive had other on going problems. I was then told that my appointment for this date had been cancelled and that my new appointment was 01/10/2014, a little bit annoyed but obviously I understand things happen. Monday I receieved another letter telling me that my appointment again had been cancelled (I got the letter 2 days before my appointment). My new appointment was rearranged for 17/12/2014, just over 6 months after my procedure. I am extremely dissapointed that I've been pushed around to acommodate for other people. This problem is still on going and I need to be seen. I've had 3 gynaecology appointments, major surgery with 6 weeks recovery and follow up gynaecology appointments all within the time I've been waiting for this one !!

We are concerned to read about the appointment cancellation and delays you are encountering with a follow up appointment at The Conquest hospital. As a Trust we are committed to providing the highest quality of service and care to our patients, however, this is clearly not what you describe. We would like to assure you that all comments are taken seriously and acted upon as part of our ongoing commitment to improving people’s experience. With this in mind, your posting has been forwarded to the Head of Central Administration, in the first instance. However, in order for us to look into your concern in more detail, we would need to speak to you to gather more details. If you are happy to do this, we would urge you to contact the Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) who will liaise with Trust staff on your behalf. They can be contacted on 01424 758090 or by email at: PALSH@esht.nhs.uk. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We hope to hear from you soon.
