Anything else?

I have attended ward 2 on several occasions over the past 2-3 years as an outpatient, I have never had a good experience. The staff have a blatant disregard for confidentiality. They will discuss highly personal details openly with you in the waiting room. Patient details can also be heard being discussed at the nearby reception desk. As a result you can be fully aware of the details of why everyone around you is attending that day. Given the sensitive nature of the treatment offered in this area (miscarriage/ infertility) this is highly unprofessional. There seems to be a good amount of staff, unfortunately they can be seen clearly eating toast and drinking coffee in the mornings at reception. When I had the misfortune of having a miscarriage a few years ago, I was scanned and informed on this ward. The person scanning me was very abrupt when she informed me that my baby was dead and the whole situation was handled badly and caused further stress, so much that when I experienced similar symptoms with a later pregnancy, I chose to go to a different hospital in another trust, where I was treated with respect. As an employee of the NHS I am fully aware of the standards expected and this area is in need of a shake up. I have left comment cards on the ward previously voicing my concerns but nothing has changed.
