"Surgery for Glaucoma."

About: Sussex Eye Hospital

The surgeon was excellent and the operation reduced the pressure in my left eye to normal. The vision improved to the point where I can see through that eye without the use of glasses. My right eye however has a pressure reading of 28 and is painful. I am told that I have to go back on the waiting list to get this eye operated on as eyes are not considered a pair by Government rules. So my condition continues to give me pain and I assume is damaging the sight of that eye. I was told that by my surgeon that they would operate on my other eye but I have received an appointment for December to see another Doctor. I was not told why I had been put on another Doctors list nor was my surgeon informed. During the past 12 months two appointments for me were not made until I checked with my surgeon. The appointments system just does not work.
