"The cleanliness of the hospital ..."

About: Lincoln County Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The cleanliness of the hospital and the friendliness of staff.

What could be improved

Food, almost nothing I liked on the menu. Staffing levels on the night shifts. Time between being told I could be discharged (10am) and time I was discharged (8pm).

Anything else?

I was an in patient on Nettleham Ward, the first night I was there I was unable to move properly due to surgery. When I rang for assistance with breast feeding I was made to feel I was wasting the staff's time and instead of helping I was offered formula milk by one of the midwives. The only other bad thing was the turnover on me being discharged. I was told at 10am I could go home that day, at shift handover that afternoon the new staff were unaware of this and the relevant paperwork had not been raised. Due to unforseen circumstances, the peadiatrician was delayed in visiting (unavoidable) I was unable to leave until approximately 8pm that evening. I just think that the communication between staff could be better in this respect.

Apart from this, my stay was good and all staff on Nettleham and Bardney Wards were friendly and respectful to me.
