What I liked

i have seen city hospital as a patient as well as a carer to my mother last year. The standard of care varies from department to department and on balance there wasnt anything positive to comment. There was mismanagement,and no one knew who was doing what. i did express my concerns to the incharge nurses without much benefit. kidney unit was the worst and the communication from professionals was poor. The standard of cleanliness was definetly worst i have saw in my life. My elderly mother felt dejected and did not want to stay for a minute overthere. Foreign nurses just presumed many things about us which were absolutely true. Doctors communication was one way and we were not given time to ask any questions. There was no privacy at all and one doctor with a team of nurses and junior doctrors passed the very sensitive info to me infront of all. All the professionals except very few overthere need training to improve their skills and expertise.Even the top managers need to improve their skills and make the communication more flexible and receptive. For us it was nothing pleasant and i can compare this hospital to some of the worst hopspitals in developing countries.
