"A & E is a disgrace! Avoid having a baby here!"

About: St Mary's Hospital (HQ) (London)

I am in the first trimester of pregnancy with heavy bleeding, severe cramps & feeling faint. I was told to go to A & E not the Maternity ward. Firstly the receptionist told me it's ''system'' to wait in a long queue because I did not have a ticket, even though the people in front were there for inquiries. It then took hours to get seen just by a phlebotomist to take some blood samples and then send me back to wait in the corridor with a line hanging out waiting hours again. Blood started pouring out of me again, I had gone pale, dizzy, faint, could barely stand & body shaking, nurses were passing by every minute, each time my partner went to get help he was told we have to wait our turn. Finally a nurse came & said she had been looking for me which was a lie as I stayed in the same exact place. Secondly she said they are taking me to the Gynae ward to see a Doctor, only to go away again & come back 40mintes later to say there is a change of plan the Doctor is coming to A&E he will talk to me & arrange for me to come back another day for a scan, again waiting hours until I almost passed out I got seen by the Doctor. The mobile scan machine appeared to be just a PC screen with connections showing bare minimal details not even monitoring the baby's heart rate just a image. I was told it looks like I'm miscarrying, given some information & was told I would not have to do anything after & nothing was mentioned of my blood results. While there I saw some were staff with mobile phones, gossiping and can't believe some of these people work in the health profession! I would have had better care at home and I'm extremely disappointed with the non- care I & my unborn baby received!
