"Royal free expensive disabled parking"

About: Ealing Hospital / Accident and emergency Royal Free Hospital / General surgery

(as a relative),

My granddaughter had surgery on her buttocks on Thursday and was discharged on Friday. On Saturday her drainage tube broke and we took her to our local A&E who then told her that we had to go back to the Royal Free.

My granddaughter had to endure a very painful and illegal journey from our home in West London to get to the Royal Free. I displayed my disabled blue badge and parked in a disabled space, and yet I still got a £100 parking ticket. I did not see any signs but then again I was very concerned about my granddaughter and the extra journey she had to endure.

If she could have travelled by tube we would have done, it simply isn't fair to penalize disabled people in this way.
