From my clinic visits to my operation and aftercare I can not fault the care I received. My GP referred me to see a podiatry specialist at Euxton and he made me feel at ease from the moment I entered his clinic. The reception staff and all of the nurses were lovely to me and treated me like a person not just another number. It was like the best of private treatment the whole way along and this was all done through the NHS! I had heard all sorts of horror stories about bunion surgery and how painful it was supposed to be, but I can honestly say that my foot was only a bit sore for a few days and it has been fine ever since. The specialist explained the procedure before my operation day and the nurses and the anesthetic doctor explained all of my care as we went along keeping me in the loop. I went to sleep for my surgery and when I came around it was all done and pain free. When the local anesthetic wore off it was sore enough to wake me up when I got home that night, but nothing that the pain killers the nurses gave me wouldn't shift. The nurse who saw me for my dressings were lovely and reassured me when I came back to have my dressing changed and stitches out. It took a while for the swelling to settle but my foot feels miles better now. The hospital itself is very clean and welcoming and they were refurbishing the entrance during some of my visits but nothing that caused any trouble.
"Brilliant bunion surgery!"
