"The current system seems to slow things down"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust

(as the patient),

I was assaulted and rushed to hospital via ambulance where I received appropriate treatment from all staff I arrived about 6. 00pm on saturday I had to wait 5 hours to get sorted out this was not a particular busy time in the waiting area.

I do feel the staff did there very best for me but I also think there just didn't seem to be enough staff on duty. Also I feel the protocol where a triarge nurse checks u out then u have to wait for a doc to check u out is wrong when its obvious that a head injury needs various xrays n scans. the triage nurse should get xrays etc done then they would b ready for when the doctor needs them n he can deal with the results etc straight away. Instead of him sending you to wait for xray then having to wait for doc and results then final treatment as your present way of doing things seems to slow the entire system down.

Sorry that you have had to raise concerns about your recent visit to A&E. I understand your frustrations but patients who have suffered a head injury do need to be fully assessed by the doctor before a scan can be arranged. I hope that you have made a full recovery
