"Excellent patient care"

About: Victoria Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I was admitted to ARU1 in July this year which filled me with dread after all the bad press it had received. On arrival the staff were kind, efficient and really could nt do enough for myself or my husband so immediately felt re assured. From there I was admitted to Ward 22 where I was an in patient for nearly 5 weeks.

This is an extremely busy acute Renal Unit which for most of my stay was short staffed. However I would never have known this because the staff were absolutely fantastic on all levels. If I asked questions they were answered truthfully and in a way I could understand and if I required anything or assistance in any way there was always someone there for me in a very short space of time..

The staff worked very well together and generally were polite with lots of smiles for the patients. Personally I cant thank them all enough for the care they gave to me, they are a special team and should be thanked very much for all the hard work they do

Dear taylorj

Thank you for taking the time to voice your appreciation for the staff in both the Admissions Unit and Ward 22. Five weeks is a long time to spend in hospital so it is pleasing to hear that staff were caring and carried out their roles with a smile, which is so important.

I will gladly share your feedback which the staff and the Management Team who will be pleased to receive this..

Thank you once again for taking the tell us this.

Dear Taylorj

It is good of you to take the time to make your opinion known. A great deal of work has been done by all our staff in NHS Fife to respond to the comments that have been made in the past and to improve the experience for patients. It is good to hear from you that you had a good experience despite a prolonged stay in hospital.

I know that the staff will read your comments and that they will be encouraged by the support that you have expressed.

I hope you are feeling better and every good wish for the future.
