"SSU fantastic care !!! MAU Shocking!!!"

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital

Fantastic SSU, great nursing staff very friendly really took great care of my mother, the nursing staff couldn't do enough for her, they took their time to chat to my mother whilst doing he obs etc, only thing I can criticise which probably is down to technical department and management is bedside entertainment, you can't watch TV next to your bed or listen to the hospital radio station which should be available for everyone in the hospital as it's a fantastic asset to the hospital. She and previously been on MAU which I would not wish my worst enemy to end up on their I am sure A prison is better than MAU at Chorley. Staff where ignorant, rude and generally didn't care as for the doctors they where shocking, but the doctors and nurses ones on SSU where fantastic , a real credit. Entertainment, bedside tv's would be great as their are some in all the other wards and access to hospital radio as my mum quite liked listening to the station when she was on MAU weather it was as it shut the nurses on MAU up shouting down the ward I don't know. But the care would be even better if patient line where available on SSU.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Whilst it was extremely pleasing to hear of the excellent care provided to your mother by staff in the SSU, we are so sorry to hear of her experience on the MAU. Please be assured that your comments have been shared with the senior medical and nursing staff; however, if you feel it would be helpful to discuss your concerns on an individual level, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Department on 01772 522521. I have also shared your comments re the Patient Line with the relevant manager
