Sept 9th - Brought into the hospital after going over my handlebars on my commute to work Symptoms on arrival: Cut and swollen knees Sore left wrist and right shoulder Disorientation and inability to answer simple questions in ambulance journey Treatment X-Ray to right knee and shoulder Cleansing and bandaging of knees Discharged to colleague with advice to return should I experience symptoms of concussion Four bullet point notes to my GP Failures I have no recollection of the accident itself or of the time between the accident and lying in the back of an ambulance... Such a gap indicates concussion and should have lead to CT scan and possibly an overnight observation (Oxford A&E) I have a fracture in my left wrist - undiagnosed Ten days later my right knee, which was not adequately cleaned, swelled to the size of a melon resulting in emergency surgery and a two-week stay in hospital due to infection I am considering my next course of action
"Inadequate"
