"Dedicated hard working staff at Royal Hallamshire Hospital"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I was admitted with jaundice and a growth on my pancreas. I was very impressed with the treatment, the care and consideration of all the staff at every level, and the effort to explain the details of my symptoms, treatments and the possible outcomes.

I was home again after eight days having had x-rays, scans, a stent insert to enable bile to flow freely again, and on discharge given a consultant appointment a fortnight later to check everything was going well.

Though for most of my stay in hospital I was able to eat only small quantities of food, I found the choice on the menus, varied from day to day very good and hot dishes were served hot.

Though now in the second half of my eighties, within a few days I am once more active and able to enjoy what life is still left to me.

I have always been a supporter of the NHS and seeing at close quarters the dedicated, hard working staff has reinforced my admiration for te service they provide.
