"Missed Appointment."

About: East Surrey Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

Letter arrives today at 12. 45 pm informing me I had an appointment 2 hours earlier at 10. 45 am. to see heart specialist.

Letter was franked two days ago Advanced Mail Second Class. Postage Paid 42p. Yet someone had marked it at the top right hand side for it to be sent 1st Class.

Whoever franked it needs to go for an eye test pretty quickly.

I have now got to wait another month for another appointment thanks to this bungling incompetence.

This hospital needs to get their act together and send out appointment dates far earlier if using second class mail. And this is the second time in less than 10 days that this has happened. Start getting your act together.

Dear not amused

I'm very sorry to read of your missed appointment because you weren't told about it. I would like to look into this for you but in order to do so I need to know your name. Please could you e-mail me at ian.mackenzie@sash.nhs.uk and I will investigate.

Kind regards

Ian
