After much aprehension I was admitted for procedure in endoscopy suite. What a most relaxing and reassuring experience! The lovely nurse who did my admission procedure didn't skimp on time, she spent so much time explaining the procedure and giving reassurance and made sure I was completely 'in the picture' regarding the whole process. My experience in the treatment room was made so much easier by the genuine care and attention of the theatre staff and the doctor who was so polite, courteous and caring and kept me continually informed as the process was carried out. Recovery was made easier by a very welcome cup of tea and biscuits......never have these been so welcome after nearly 2 days without solid food! My discharge process was handled again with so much care and attention to detail. I wasn't coming away without knowing what my next move had to be and I was also given the backup of telephone numbers as an emergency helpline. Thanks to all involved for a very positive experience in a very pleasant environment, I was so pleased that the unit operates a single sex policy on the wards....I have previously been in the Day Hospital and wasn't very comfortable sharing the unit with males. Cannot praise the Staff involved enough!!
