"Lack of post-natal care at Mayday Hospital"

(as the patient),

I had my baby girl at Mayday Hospital a year and a half ago. I broke my waters on a Friday, went to hospital but got sent back home.

After two days at home and feeling contractions I got back to Mayday on Sunday morning where I was induced. My little girl was born on Monday morning by emergency caesarian. By the time I got to the post-natal ward it was around 5am. At 8am that same day I had to have a shower on my own, baby with me, after three days without any sleep, and having a baby (first time mother).

I had no care whatsoever. There were two midwives for the whole ward, my c-section pad was never changed, I did not know how to breastfeed and asked several times for help but it was not provided.

My baby had to go to intensive care to have antibiotics twice a day, at midday and midnight, the second day they forgot to take her as staff changed and nurses didn't read her notes, so from then on I had to take her myself.

Not a cup of tea was offered to me and I was even told once I could not have two sandwiches! The nurses were rude, patronising and preferred to sit at the nurse station than come to your help. All around, it was the worst five days of my life.
