Following on from my daughter's comment posted on 12th September (which I notice the hospital have not yet replied to) I am appalled at the service she has received. She had a procedure in June which was only half done. After complaining she was told she would be seen before her marriage in August, only for the appointment to come through for the end of September! She arranged time off work, although she now lives 200 miles away, but then received a letter for a pre op appointment (which she did not have to have the first time). She rang to say she would be unable to come, to be told that the date of her operation had changed but if she could not attend the pre op appointment she could not have it. The secretary was very rude and made her feel terrible. She then decided not to go ahead with the procedure and live with the problem. Yesterday in the post we received a letter for her hospital appointment for today! The letter was posted on Monday 2nd class and I was unable to speak to my daughter until late last night so as unable to contact anyone at the hospital. How are patients meant to be able to give at least 24 hours notice if they are unable to attend when the letter arrives less than 24 hours before the procedure! I have tried to contact the hospital by telephone this morning but no one is answering the phone. What a joke!! I feel so sorry for my daughter and feel she has been very very let down.
"Unbelievable!"
