"Unhappy with post-op care on Ward 7"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

(as a relative),

My elderly partially sighted relative was put on ward 7 after a minor procedure last week. The day staff were OK but the night staff were unhelpful - they did not help the patient to go to the toilet at night when there were no lights on and and the surroundings were unfamiliar, unsurprisingly my relative became disorientated and got lost!

Also had to ask for breakfast and was treated roughly when asked for assistance to remove op socks.

My relative felt that the staff would rather let the elderly patients in the same room soil their beds rather than assist them to go to the bathroom.
