"Difficult to get an appointment to see GP at Manor Health Centre"

I always have trouble getting an appointment to see a GP at the Manor Health Centre in Clapham.

I called this morning and they told me the soonest I could get an appointment to see any doctor at all was 7 days from now. I told her I would like to see someone sooner and she said it might be possible to make a same day appointment if I call up at 8.30 in the morning.

Surely this system is very difficult for people who work or who have other commitments. Depending on the time of the appointment I *might* get, I may need to find someone to cover for me at work or to take care of my daughter and that is very hard to do on such short notice.

I think seven days is an unacceptable amount of time to wait and the possibility of maybe getting a same day appointment really only works for people who don't work or have children to take care of.
