"My mother's delayed diagnosis"

About: Frimley Park Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

My mother died nearly 4 years ago at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey. She had been staying with us (luckily or she would have been alone) & after days of terrible diarrhoea almost collapsed, screaming with pain & was taken by ambulance to Frimley Park. They took x-rays & diagnosed a urinary tract infection & sent her home. 24 hours later she was still screaming with pain & I again phoned for an ambulance, she was admitted & eventually operated on - they found she had a perforated bowel.

She then spent 2 1/2 weeks in intensive care (where she received very good treatment) before she died of (among other things) septicaemia. If she had been admitted & diagnosed correctly the first time, I feel she would still be with me today.
