About: The James Cook University Hospital

(as the patient),

What could be improved

tried to chosse and book but the service was not available and the choose and book helpline informed me this was because the hospital had not released any appointments for booking. The helpline will now contact the hospital and they will send me an appointment, no doubt at a time not suitable as both my wife and I are nurses and work shifts!! Huge amounts of money spent resourcing and staffing another new system that doesn't work. Leading to no money for the staff where it matters , on the wards (which might lead to a few less negative comments)If there are no appointment available for six weeks or so I want to know that.

Thank you for your email, I am sorry you experienced problems with the Choose and Book system when trying to book your appointment. This is a national system provided for use by all hospitals in England and is not funded by South Tees Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Since the introduction of Choose and Book we have learnt many lessons and are constantly reviewing and updating our processes to make the service as patient focused as it can be. We also have a lot of work underway across the specialties to reduce the non availability of slots so that patients can get their appointments as quickly and easily as possible.
