"volunteering at sure start children's centre"

About: Bassetlaw Rural Children's Centre

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Everyone there made me feel so at ease as I was always welcomed into the centre by the friendly staff. I volunteered to gain further knowledge and experience for my college course in child development and found the staff to be only to willing to help me whenever I needed it. It was such an enjoyable experience and I highly recommend their services to the community.

Response from Karon Foulkes, General Manager, Sure Start, Health Partnerships - Nottinghamshire Healthcare

Thank you for letting us know your experience in the Children's Centres. It is good to know the Centres are welcoming and have given you a range of opportunities to support you in your future employment. Volunteers are very important for the local community to help get more local people involved and to get the community to build its own resources.

I hope we will see you in your local centre soon

kind regards
