"9 Hours in A&E"

About: Scarborough General Hospital Scarborough General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

Sent to A&E by my GP with suspected DVT's, after arriving back from a long flight on holiday. After being left in an empty annex for seven hours I decided to make my way back into the centre of A&E only to find that the nurses were sitting around talking and seemed to be more interested in my sunburn, and had neglected to come through and inform me of the results of the blood tests. An hour later I was given a prescription and sent home. They were not busy with lots of patients, it was very late at night and they seemed too busy chatting.

Great service and care? I don't think so.
