"Ignored going into respiratory arrest"

About: Warwick Hospital

(as the patient),

I have acute asthma. I suffered complete respiratory arrest and was in a coma in intensive care, where I also had a cardiac arrest. When I came off the ventilator the next week, I felt unable to breathe and a senior nurse told me in a very cruel manner that she was too busy and I was fine. I could not speak or move at all and the only choice left to me was to close my eyes, and accept that I would die! I arrested a few seconds later. The trauma of having to make that decision is with me always, and I have severe PTSD as a result.

The same nurse came to remove my central line 2weeks later and asked me before the procedure if I remembered her. I certainly did, but said no, as she was about to do a scary thing to me! I never reported this. I wish I had but too distressed even 2yrs later!
