I go to Bodmin Road Health Centre and they've recently changed the booking system. Now you have to phone the surgery at 8am to get an appointment and they are telling us that you can see any doctor, it doesn't have to be the doctor you're registered with.
Last week I saw a GP who sent me for X rays and I left a sample with them. After this, they phoned me to say they'd found something in my sample and asked me to make an appointment to see them. I did this but later had to cancel it because I was ill.
When I tried to make another appointment with the Dr by phone the receptionist told me I could come and see any GP. When I told her that the GP had specifically told me I should make an appointment with them, she said I would have to wait 3 weeks for an appointment. I've got to wait now.
It doesn't seem right to me that when a specific doctor asks you to ring back, that the receptionist tries to get you to make an appointment with a different doctor.
