"inapropriate ward setting at dorset county hospital"

patients currently admitted to the short stay unit in dorset county hospital if in bay 5 are situated in a bay of six beds with curtain tracks in a position for 8 trolleys as this bay was originaly intended to be used as an admissions bay, this means hat patients do not have enough room arround their bed when the curtains are closed and often do not have access to a bedside locker or table. the trust says that there is not enough money to rectify this but are currently planning an extention to the hospital. also patients in this bay are nursed opasite an outpatients service on the same ward this leaves the patients with no dignity or privicy.

also on this ward 9 patients have one toilet between them often causing patients to wait for a free toilet. this 29 bedded unit has 3 patient bathrooms.
