I was in as a day case patient September 18th 2014 for a tonsillectomy, I can't praise every member of staff enough. From the nurses who looked after me prior to the operation right through to the after care nurses, I feel I was really cared for in every way. I had some anxiety due to medication allergies (which was worrying me more then the actual op) but the consultant and her team really put my mind at rest before the operation and came to check on me afterwards also, which I really appreciated thank you. Everyone had so much patience and took time to answer my somewhat silly questions, and had much patience with me when I forgot to take my inhaler into the anaesthetic room (I wasn't quite thinking straight). They made me feel really relaxed and I went off to sleep feeling really happy to be in such good hands. When I came round the consultant's colleague was there reassuring me which again made me feel once again very cared for. In such a busy, fast moving and unpredictable environment I was humbled by the level of personal care I was given by everyone and I am very grateful to everyone. The surgeon and his colleagues made a fantastic job of removing my tonsils and I have had no complications at all, and even though I had a reaction to the pain killers and had to stop them on the second day after the op, the horror stories about the awful pain were unfounded, in my case it has been only a little worse than the continual tonsillitis I have endured over the last 12-18 months. Please pass on my thanks to each and every member of the team and please make this review available to anyone who it might help. As previously stated I can't praise everyone enough and I can only offer my full thanks to all involved, I am spreading the same comments to everyone who I have been talking to. Once again thank you!

We understand that coming into hospital for surgery can be a daunting experience, so it is good to know that our staff kept you well informed and put you at ease both during and after your procedure.
