"very good reception staff and triage nurse ......"

About: Trafford General Hospital

I was treated well by the triage nurse and then waited for the doctor, though I wished I hadn't. When I told her my symptoms she was less than sympathetic. She looked at me like I was wasting her time and she treated me the same. She made me feel really small and when she looked at the area in question she said she could see nothing wrong and made me feel like a fool and stated that the area where I was in pain was not her specialising. On leaving the department I asked her advice whether to go to the walk in centre, next door and she said "you could do". At the walk in centre everyone was exactly the opposite. They were lovely and when the lead clinic nurse looked at my problem she told me that it was quite severe and could understand why I was in agony. Shame the doctor didn't. I am appalled by that doctor and I hope I don't have to return to the UCC.

We are very sorry to receive your comments and concerns via the NHS Choices / Patient Opinion website about your experience at the Urgent Care Centre in September. It is very difficult to respond to the specific concerns you have raised without being able to investigate in detail. We take all issues surrounding patient care very seriously and would very much like to hear from you directly about this. Please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0161 276 8686 or by e-mailing pals@cmft.nhs.uk so that we can look into the poor experience you had and prevent a recurrence.

Thank you for your positive comments regarding the reception and nursing staff at the Urgent Care Centre. We are also very pleased that the lead clinic nurse at the Walk In Centre gave you a better experience of care. We will ensure these comments are passed onto them.
