"Parking Charges at North Middlesex Hospital"

About: North Middlesex Hospital

(as a relative),

I went to collect my partner after day surgery on his knee under general anaesthetic. I paid 50p for 15 minutes in the car park but this turned out not to be enough time: in spite of having received a phone call to say he was ready, he wasn't, plus it took almost 10 minutes to find the ward due to lack of signposting. I had to return to the car without him as the ticket was about to expire with the option of paying a £3. 20 charge for anything longer than 15 minutes or trying to find a space in the crowded residential streets outside the hospital which would have been too far for him to walk on crutches. I feel the trust is taking advantage of friends and relatives by charging car parking rates that are well above average if they allow sufficient time to find and collect patients after surgery.

Thank you for sending your comments regarding car parking charges. The car parking service is run by an outside company and the Trust does not have any control over the car parking charges. The costs are in line with other Trusts. Please email me david.sowoola@nhs.net so that I can provide you with more information.
