"My grandmother's stay on a filthy ward"

About: St Helier Hospital

(as a relative),

My 82 yr old grandmother has been admitted to St Heliers hospital in Carshalton for a heart condition. The hospital is filthy and in 6 days she has not seen 1 cleaner. There is a used heart monitor sticker on the floor next to her bed that has been there since she got there. The toilets have a chart on the wall to be signed by a cleaner when they are cleaned and it is blank. The pedal bin's pedal doesn't work so you have to use your hand to open it.

She has a dairy allergy but keeps being given things like cheese sandwiches and mashed potato with milk in it. One morning she asked for toast and was told they only had bread, she cant have butter and there was nothing else to go on it so she had dry bread and water.

She is spoken to like she is stupid because she is elderly and has had no aid with washing, therefore she has been left feeling dirty.

If she was having an operation i would be very worried about her, and surprised if she came out with no infections.

I believe that this hospital needs inspecting and fast. Hopefully before too many people are affected by its uncleanliness.
