"Wonderful staff"

About: Wansbeck Hospital

I went into the maternity suite at 41 weeks pregnant and having a few pains. I was seen very quickly and the midwife was lovely saying I was in labour but sent away as there was no need for me to stay at that stage. I then ended up back on the ward later that day. I was then seen by a student midwife and then a fully qualified midwife, both reassured me and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible. During my delivery my son got stuck, the team acted very quickly to get him out. They did everything they could to get him out, and thankfully he arrived safe and sound. Once I moved to ward 11 the staff were wonderful and were there for anything I needed. Everyone is quick to tell horror stories from Wansbeck, but I would recommend using Wansbeck to anyone! I found my overall experience quite scary due to the complications, but I could not fault the staff in the slightest! Thank you to all the staff for the help! Toni

Dear Toni Firstly I want to say congratulations on the birth of your baby boy. It sounds like you had quite a tough time and I can appreciate how scary this must have felt for you. Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know just how much you appreciated the prompt and affective actions from the team which kept your baby safe. Your recommendation of both Wansbeck and the quality care provided by the maternity team means a great deal to us - I will ensure your kind words are passed on to all concerned. Best wishes, Annie
