Arrived last night at 19.40 and was told by the receptionist that if we needed an xray we probably wouldn't be getting one as the xray unit was closing at 22.00. To be fair there appeared to be half a dozen patients waiting before us but as the minor injuries unit is supposed to be open until 23.00 I didn't think that if even everyone needed an xray it would be that difficult. Waited around an hour to be seen by the first person who promptly sent us to xray where the radiographer (again very professional and efficient) took the xray. Back to the reception area and we had hardly sat down when we were called in to confirm the break and receive treatment. We left when this was complete and probably no later than 21.15 by which time the place appeared to have one patient remaining. Therefore I am surprised that the receptionist felt it necessary to inform people they were unlikely to be xrayed. I witnessed at least three people with injuries leave the hospital saying they would go to the LGI.
"Early closing !!"
