I took my fiance to A and E at 11 pm, after a nasty accident at work (slice type cut along top side of finger from nail to knuckle). When we arrived we saw a triage nurse who checked and dressed the wound and sent us back to the waiting room where we would be until 4am!
Finally we were seen by a doctor, who spent the time asking about where we worked and then passed personal comment on the hotel we worked at. To be honest, the place you work isn't top notch after leaving us all that time while my fiancé was still bleeding! We were then given back to the same triage nurse to dress the wound for going home.
A week later at the doctors surgery they removed the dressing to find out that the wrong dressing had been applied and so had stuck to the wound causing the injury's healing to go back to square one after ripping the scab and skin off - thanks Lancaster!
Maybe if the doctor had been more interested in the wound and not passing judgement on hotels they would have told the nurse the type of dressing to apply.
Also noticed that only the positive reviews are responded to on here? There are ones months and months old with no response - surely a courtesy reply would only take 2 mins?!
"Long wait in A and E"
