"Wonderful staff made nasty condition bearable"

About: Churchill Hospital

I was admitted with a very nasty leg infection which made movement painful and caused heavy fever symptoms. The nursing and physician staff were consistently kind, supportive and helpful, and I immediately felt in safe hands. The doctors I spoke to took time to understand the condition and the effect it was having on me, and explained the treatments they were implementing (and why they were doing so). The nurses were sympathetic and capable, quickly responding to my needs (and those of my ward-mates). There was a lovely sense of unity amongst the whole clinical team, which meant I felt comfortable in the care of whoever was available, and that each knew my needs and the best way to respond. I am really very impressed by the whole experience.

Thank you for taking time to share your experience, our staff love to know that they have made such a tremendous difference to the lives of patients. I am glad to hear that you felt that you were in safe hands, that the staff made sure you were kept well informed about your treatment, and that doctors and nurses were prompt in responding to your needs, and the needs of those around you. It has been an absolute pleasure to share your thanks with the clinical team working in Infectious Diseases, and with senior management. I hope that you are recovering well!
