"A+E / Maternity Assessment Unit"

I attended A+E with a potential miscarriage - this was after finding out the Early pregnancy unit is closed at weekends...in fact all of the local ones are shut. I understand the cut backs, pressures on staff, burn out, over work, pay freezes but I do not feel that I was treated with not with even an ounce of respect, dignity let alone any warmth or just common curtesy! I know that you have seen hundreds of people like me, probably in more dire circumstances. But a friendly smile, an hello, even an introduction of your name, explanation of what is going to happen rather than just another unwelcome interuption to your shift. The realisation of no scan and the consequent painful and intrusive internal examinations instead so managers can save the money would have been much easier to bare - with just a little warmth. It breaks my heart that I still do not know what is happening and still have another day to get through. But what also breaks my heart is that as a fellow nurse and passionate NHS worker, I am becoming more disillusioned by the day....It's not rocket science treat people how you would wish to be treated, that goes from the overpaid out of touch managers to the underpaid, undervalued little people at the bottom which appears to be the patients. So I have said my piece and look forward to my generic brush off reply.
