I came to the A&E dept due to a problem with my knee due to a rugby related injury, there is extensive swelling and severe bruising running the full length of my calf as a result of the injury. I initially saw the nurse for a brief 2-3 minute assessment where she mentioned the likelihood of tendon injury due to the swelling and pain and sent me for x-ray. Following the x-ray I was called back in for no longer than 30 seconds to be told no bones were broken so there's nothing they can do. So I'm sat here, in considerable pain, with substantial swelling and no further information the cause, and absolutely no proposed treatment going forward. Unfortunately, this is far from the first time I have felt like this upon visiting be the A&E dept here, should I need to again I would certainly think twice about doing so, which is not the position I am comfortable with for my local hospital.
"Not sure why I bothered..."
