I took my teenage son there on Friday as he had cut his finger in school and possibly had glass stuck in it. I thought I was doing the right thing not going to A&E. We were seen reasonably quickly by triage then sent back to waiting again. A doctor saw him then and sent him for an X-ray. Waited a while for the X-ray then over half an hour when we came back to see the doctor again. This was after I prompted them as they were just sitting there talking or "just discussing another patient" as they told me. My son was in a lot of pain and was still bleeding. We were then told that they could not do anything for him and would need to go to A&E as he would most likely need surgery to remove the glass. We then had to wait as the doctor spoke to someone at the A&E hospital and wrote up a letter to take. We were there 2 hours all in all with no pain relief or help to stop his finger bleeding everywhere. They did not seem very professional, unlike the amazing nurses and doctors at Queen Elizabeth A&E who I must say were fantastic.
