"poor treatment"

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

18/09/14 at 11.20 pm, I entered the accident and emergency department as I was bitten by a dog on the mouth. After 20 minutes I was seen by the triage nurse. She asked what the problem was which was where I told her that I was bitten by a dog. I had three cuts on my chin and was in agony. The nurse took some details. Then had to look up what she had to do next. Which she then said you will need some antibiotics and told me to go sit back in the waiting room to see the doctor. No pain killers were offered to me. I was then left for 4 and half hours before eventually seeing the doctor. He tried to examine my face but I was in too much pain to allow him to do it properly. He asked if I had had some painkillers. When I said no he told me he would get some and arrange for me to have a tetanus jab. No x ray was suggested. Yet again I was told to sit back in the waiting area for my painkillers. 45 mins later a nurse finally came with painkillers and tetanus jab. After I had them I sat in the treatment room for 10 minutes before the nurse came back to move me into a side ward and told me to wait for the doctor. Because I had entered a sterile area I had to have a wristband and a nose swob. By this point i had begun getting severe pains in my stomach. Again I waited a further 40 minutes before the doctor finally came back which was where i asked what painkillers i was given. It was Co Codamol and ibuprofen. No one had asked me if i had eaten anything. If they had i would of said no. So the pain in my stomach was caused by the ibuprofen on an empty stomach. The doctor then said someone will be along shortly to give me some painkillers to take home and my antibiotics (that I still hadn't been given). 20 minutes later a nurse came into me and said that I would have to come back in the morning with my prescription to collect my antibiotics as they didn't have any. I eventually got home nearly 6 hours later without antibiotics which was what I was meant to get. The whole experience was awful. The receptionist was rude too. Staff members were standing around having a good old chin wag instead of looking after patients properly. Its disgusting!
