I was admitted last Thursday and discharged on Friday, From being assessed in A&E ( that was really busy) to being admitted to the Medical Assesmemt Unit to finally being moved ( due to need for beds - and I needed coronary monitor) to CCU I felt I was in good hands, all of the staff from Nurses, to Dotors, to Porters to Radiology all treated me with respect, humour and a calm, reassuring manner. I spent most of the time on CCU, where all staff cared for us, the Nurses were of course stalwarts in their duty, the ancillary staff always making sure we were comfortable and provided for and I must say they were all a real credit to the NHS. Too many of us at times knock the NHS, but when it comes down to it we have the finest medical service in the world, yes it needs more money, yes the staff need more recognition in their salaries and yes more staff, equipment and facilities would be good - but I have nothing but respect for all who work in the NHS to make it what it is. Thank you all
