Dear Sir or Madam I was first admitted into the spinal unit of the old hospital several years ago I have also been treated in the new spinal unit the whole experience was humbling to me all the staff were incredible everything possible was done for myself and other patients who needed long term care, since that time I have been an out patient mainly for catheter problems, I live in Shipley so the local district nurses would do this job then I had to go to Dewsbury Hospital it was always a three hour wait and on two occasions a doctor or surgeon had to be called to carried out the task of changing the catheter then always suffering with bladder infections that my doctor would deal with, this wasn't acceptable to me, I was told to go down to Pinderfields again it was a revelation I was seen on the time of my appointment the catheter was changed without any problems in ten minutes and the next time was the same story, but I was put back to the old system of the district nurse coming, she could not do the job on her visit 9th September told me to go to the B.R.I ward 14, My farther and I arrived there at 13:30 hours it was another two hours before I was taken through they had difficulty changing my Pubic tube in the end surgeon was called he did the job placing a number 16 tube instead of the 18 we finally left the hospital at 17:15 hours, I new I would have lots of problems with the smaller catheter I rang Pinderfields an appointment was made for 13:00 hours Friday 19 September we arrived at 12:50 I was taken to a room the 18 gauge tube was fitted by a staff nurse and I was wheeled out of the main entrance just after 13:10, that staff nurse was one in a million she new her job inside out she caring and jolly as usual I was on a high full of admiration for all the people that help to make Pinderfields a Hospital that stands out from the rest, with the right people waiting times could be cut dramatically,
