My child is a frequent visitor to Blackpool Vic. He has a complex medical history. Each time we attend either Berry Ward or the children's clinic, the staff there are extremely helpful, professional and are able to treat him with love and compassion. Very few of the doctors there rush him as he can be wary of doctors. The play therapists are fabulous and try to distract him from the more unpleasant procedures. The nurses are excellent and bend down to talk to him at his level and remember his name. Little things like this enable my child to become content whilst resident which makes the visit that bit less stressful. The only negative aspect I could possibly conceive if pushed is that the shops within the hospital could do with opening earlier. After a restless night on a noisy children's ward, something to eat at 7am would be heavenly. That is not really possible unless vending machines can provide more substantial food than a chocolate bar.
