"Personal. Consultation"

About: New Cross Hospital

i attended an appointment, on time, yesterday, at ophthalmology and was taken for a brief eye assessment. I then waited 1 hour to see a doctor. It was a follow up appointment from the previous week. The consultation lasted less than 5 minutes which included an extremely brief examination of my eyes. Slight improvement had been made .Told to carry on with treatment, I was to be discharged and told to report to my GP for additional medication when required. I have been diagnosed with an acute allergy in both eyes, cause undetermined. I felt that my consultation was not thorough enough and that she could not wait to see me through the door. She was abrupt and did not show any empathy with my condition as though she was totally uninterested. I suggest training on patient communication and patient care to begin with. If I am referred again to this department I hope this doctor is not on duty as I would not be willing to see her again. The doctor I saw the week before was excellent in all aspects of my consultation with her.
