I was admitted for cardiac ablation on 12-9-14. I was anxious about the procedure but was instantly put at ease by each new person I met from the car park attendant, the reception staff, the cafe lady and then all the staff on the ward. I met my consultant and instantly felt I was in safe hands for the procedure itself. The catheter suite staff were masters in reducing my worries with cheerful banter and information. The procedure went smoothly, very little discomfort and I felt involved at all times. I stayed in the ward recovering for a further 24 hours and again felt the staff from nursing to cleaners were attentive, responsive and caring. As a nurse myself I know the NHS can come in for a lot of critical feedback. My recent experience above demonstrates that there are some excellent NHS organisations that have a sincere desire to provide caring, professional services to people at very vulnerable times. Well done Glenfield cardiac services and thank you!
