"Transvaginal ultrasound scan result"

About: Heartlands Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

Few months ago I finally convinced my GP to refer me to hospital for having transvaginal ultrasound scan. I have had a fibrosis and wanted to check whether is getting bigger or not. A radiologist was very kind, but incompetent and so she gave me wrong diagnosis. I would rather prefer a knowledgeable doctor who need not necessarily have to be lovely! When I was in Poland I had abdominal ultrasound scan done. I decided to have it done as my British GP ignored the information about the pain I experienced in abdominal part of my body completely. He told me to go to Internet and look for information. At the same time, I knew there would be no way he would refer me to the hospital to be examined. A Polish radiologist was shocked when she looked at my endometrium. She was very concerned that it was bigger than I am supposed to have it in my age. She also told me to seek gynaecologist's advice. The same day I went to see obstetrician gynaecologist. I have been living in the UK for 5 years and to be referred to gynaecologist is as same as to fly to space - a prestige rather than right.

I don't know why women's health seems so neglected here yet I believe there must be a reason for it. The obstetrician gynaecologist who performed transvaginal ultrasound scan informed me that instead of having three fibroses, what the radiologist in Heartlands Hospital told me, I have two polyps and a fibrosis that hasn't changed since I've seen the same obstetrician gynaecologist when I used to live in Poland and pay NIN contributions there. Now I live in Birmingham and pay all taxes as well as NIN contributions here. Polyps are treated differently than fibrosis, as professionals may know. At the moment I have been treated with medication the doctor prescribed me in Poland and not in Birmingham, sadly.
