"4 hours in A&E no food"

About: Worcestershire Royal Hospital

The care was excellent. The availability of food however. I was with my elderly mother for 4 hours between 5 and 9pm on Tue night. There is a food vending machine in A&E but they were not working, neither was the one in the main cafeteria. Last time I went to this hospital the canteen was open much later with good food. it really is unacceptable for a 24/7 operation where relatives need to stay with patients for there to be absolutely nothing to eat never mind taking into account dietary needs. A poor show for the hundreds of night staff too. Really poor show

Mal, Thank you for your comments, and we are very pleased to hear that the care your mother received was of a high standard. We are sorry however to hear of the issue regarding food, and have shared this with the management team responsible for A&E. Please accept our apologies for the extended delay in this acknowledgement; if you require anything further, please contact our Patient Services Department at PatientServices.Dept@Worcsacute.nhs.uk
