I attended the coronory unit at Bedford Hospital in September of 2014 for any Angioplasty. On arrival I was greeted by the a kind and welcoming staff who after getting all the paperwork out of the way explained to me the system and what was going to happen in my immediate future. After being suitably attired I was given the very English transfusion of tea and lots of reassurance I was introduced to my doctor who explained to me the proceedure and the risks involved. I do not have great experience of hospitals and such but having been military man for best part of thirty years I have vast experience of people. I found the doctor to be a kind and caring man with a sincere manner. I felt that he told me all I needed to know and with a calm confidence that really did make me feel as if I was where I needed to be to resolve the problem . The proceedure took approx 45minutes and during this time I was fully conscious and able to watch what was happening whilst the doctor chatted to me. He showed me where the blockage had occured and after where he managed to clear it and put in the stents. To fast forward to recovery with more tea and biscuits I laid on bed for fours hours before being allowed to get up and get dressed. I cannot tell you in words just how thankfull I am to this group of total strangers who looked after me cared for me and gave me a second chance. Brian Dennis
