"I was very impressed by all the ..."

About: Chase Farm Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was very impressed by all the staff I had dealings with, from the pre-assessment clinic right through to the ward and theatre staff who were very kind and considerate and explained everything clearly. My primary carer on the ward was very professional but also took the time to make me feel at ease and even managed to make me giggle whilst preparing me for surgery which was no mean feat as I was very scared.

What could be improved

My only complaint is that the unit I was in was so busy that I had to wait in the recovery ward for quite some time after waking as there was simply no room back on the ward. I was a patient on Canterbury Ward, the day surgery unit and was fortunate enough to feel so well that I didnt have to stay in overnight as had been expected. This was in no small part due to the after care I received from the staff who, though they were extremely busy, attended to my every need with efficiency and a smile. I can only think that increased funding would allow the staff more time to do what they already do so well.

Anything else?

I would just like to say a big thank you to all the staff involved in my care. And though I hope never to have to make use of your services again I know that would not be as scared if there was a next time.
